Quick and Easy Snickerdoodle Recipe

Quick and Easy Snickerdoodle Recipe

Whew! We’ve just about made it through 2017. It was a pretty stressful year all around, it seems, so it’ll be nice to sit down with friends and family this week and talk about all the things we’re grateful for.
While I’m lucky not to be hosting Thanksgiving myself, I do have to bring at least one side dish to the friend’s Thanksgiving potluck, and I should probably make extra for my family members as well.
I’ve got to say, my go-to contributions have always been deserting related. While my family loves pie, I’ve also been asked never to bring one to dinner again—I’ve not lived down the time that I combined three recipes into one since I was distracted and didn’t realize I kept flipping the page. I can, however, whip up a mean batch of cookies for the holiday treats, so I’ll share my very well recipe, super easy to make, Snickerdoodle recipe.

(Makes Approx. Four Dozen)

  • 1 cup of butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups of sugar
  • 2 ¾ cups of flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 additional tbsp. of sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. You can put this to the side to come back to later.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until they’re mixed well, add the eggs and blend together.
  4. Pour the dry mix (flour, baking soda, etc.) into the butter and egg blend, and stir together until it is well mixed throughout.
  5. Place cinnamon and additional 2 tbsp. of sugar in a separate bowl, mix.
  6. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls, rolling each one in the cinnamon-sugar mix before putting them on the (ungreased) cookie sheet, about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for eight to ten minutes.
